About Jeffrey

Dr. Jeffrey Klausner is one of the most accomplished infectious disease specialists in the country. He earned his MD from Cornell University and his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, completed his internal medicine residency at NYU-Bellevue, and his infectious disease fellowship at the University of Washington.

From 1998 to 2009, Dr. Klausner served as Deputy Health Officer and Director of STD Prevention and Control for the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where he co-created the St. James Infirmary (the nation’s first sex worker health clinic) and Magnet (a sexual health clinic for gay men). He then led the CDC’s HIV/TB program in South Africa as a Branch Chief.

He has held faculty positions at UCSF, UCLA, and USC, where he currently serves as Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine. With 25+ years of HIV/STI research, hundreds of peer-reviewed publications, and multiple CDC and NIH awards, Dr. Klausner provides the infectious disease expertise behind CityHealth’s STI testing and treatment services.
